Michigan Medical, P.C. Welcomes David Wenkert, MD

     Michigan Medical, P.C. (mmpc) is pleased to welcome David Wenkert, MD, PhD, to the mmpc Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology on July 21, 2008.  Dr. Wenkert serves as an Associate Professor of Endocrinology at Michigan State University’s College of Physiology and Natural Science, as well as at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.   Dr. Wenkert is a superb medicinal chemist, and his clinical appointment at mmpc is the beginning of what Michigan State University and mmpc foresee as a mutually successful, cooperative effort between the clinical and academic aspects of medicine in the Grand Rapids area going forward. 
   
      Dr. Wenkert earned his BS in chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, and he holds a PhD and AM from Harvard University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in organic chemistry.  He received his MD from the University of Miami Medical School, in Miami, Florida.  He completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, in Maywood, Illinois; with board certification in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.  Dr. Wenkert also completed a Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
