What to Expect on Your First Visit
You will be asked to fill out a New Patient History Form before your visit. This will be mailed to your home prior to your appointment (time permitting).

If you have had any chest X-rays or CAT scans done recently, please make arrangements to pick these films (or disks) up and bring them to your appointment.

Depending on the diagnosis that your referring doctor gave us to set up your appointment, you will have a spirometry or pulmonary function test before seeing the physician. To prepare for this test, you must follow these guidelines:
  1. Do not use any inhalers or bronchodilators (albuterol, Ventolin, Proventil, Maxair, Serevent, Atrovent, Combivent).
  2. Do not use tobacco in any form 6 hours prior to the test (including smoking cessation aids Nicotrol, Nicoderm, etc.)
  3. Avoid all caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate) before testing
  4. You may have a light meal before testing
  5. Wear comfortable clothing
